Yes a nerve impulse or action potential is considered an electric current. Nerves conduct in a biochemical fashion to begin the impulse generation but the transmission down the nerve itself is technically electrical. In fact, we have machines that can detect and measure it, as well as create stimulation of the nerve as opposed to the muscle.
